Challenged each year to create a theme around the Frist Art Museum’s exhibit on display at the time of the Gala, this gala theme was based on art and sculpture from Italy. Many ancient villas in Italy feature hand-painted walls with beautiful landscapes and garden scenes. Local artists painted every wall of the Frist Gala tent, transforming it in to an Italian villa with the feel of a romantic garden. Lush flowers, rich velvet and brocade fabrics on the tables, and moody lighting set the tone for a luxurious evening in support of one of Nashville’s most important buildings. Nearly 400 guests attend, enjoying cocktails in the historic lobby with live entertainment before being ushered to the magnificent tent for dinner.
